Gift cards are a great alternative to cash. They are handy and make great gifts.

Gift cards are so useful! You can use them in a store, or you can use them online. Just about any store that you like, they have a gift card for that. You can get gift cards for yourself, your family, your friends, or they make excellent small gifts. Gift cards are the perfect thing to put in Easter baskets or give for Mother’s Day.

Do You Bid on Gift Cards?

If you’re not bidding on gift cards, you should probably start. They are a no-risk way to bid on DealDash if you choose a store that you are planning on going anyway, such as Target or Bed, Bath, and Beyond. If you don’t win the gift card when you are bidding, you can always BIN (Buy It Now) and get the gift card, free shipping, and all of their bids back to use on another auction. You also get to keep the “clock time” that you accumulated by bidding on the gift card.

What Kinds of Gift Cards are Available?

DealDash offers lot of really useful and fun gift cards for auction. There are gift cards for the kids such as Toys R Us, Dave and Busters, and Barnes and Noble. There are gift cards for Mom and Grandma such as Bath and Body Works or Walgreens. There are also gift cards for Dad and Grandpa such as Lowe’s, Ihop, and Bass Pro Shops. Also, there are gift cards that the whole family can enjoy such as Target, Wal*Mart, CVS, and Darden Restaurants. Do they still auction these real gift cards? If so, when? I never see any except that I won a few $10 ones we I first signed up. I have seen none of those since and nothing in a higher denomination except for those crap one you’ve never heard of, no Walmart or anything else.

I never saw this auction. Could you send me a link to it so I can see how it turned out? Do they only let certain members see these auctions? I’ve been watching on android app and in google chrome browser on PC.

    2. Hi Chris,

It’s actually still running – the link is: here. Also, you should be able to see all of the auctions except for the ones that are just for Newbies. Those disappear after you have won a few auctions to make it fair for the new bidders that join so they can figure out how everything works without a lot of competition from more experienced bidders.

    3. Thanks for the information, Chris! If I might offer a suggestion to you – If you’re interested in any particular “popular” gift card like Wal-Mart, Shell Gas, Target, Kohl’s, etc. go do a DealDash search for any of them and you will see that they have ones that are coming soon and you can hit the “alert me” button. DealDash will send you an automated email when those auctions are about to start. That way you won’t have to keep checking back if there’s a particular one that you want.

I totally agree Gift Cards are a great investment. However I have also been taught a lesson on leaving the bid buddy loaded but unattended. When you do this more experienced bidders can and will drive the gift card beyond the bin price. Leaving you to pay the higher price of the auction while they only intended to build their bid meter time. I would suggest to anyone to pay attention to the auction your bidding in before you lose your bids like I did. Myself I like bidding for the cards not just because of building the meter time but simply because they are great back ups for going out to eat meals, emergency travel or like me hitting a sale of products, household and medicine’s when you have a short pay week. I have only had issue’s with my lesser value of wal-mart gift cards since I joined being ship with out getting loaded first. It only took a request of pictures of the back of the cards being send back to CS, and maybe 20 minutes of my time, To get it fixed. You cannot ask for better customer service, than I have received from #DealDash employees. They have went far and beyond with fixing any issues or even questions, I have had. It did not take days to do so either. For folks reading this blog, I hope you find your entertainment of bidding in penny auctions with Deal Dash. Grant I cannot afford to go against the many business people that bid not only here but on all penny auction sites without being prepared to go the distance, but by being prepared for the long haul of a possible purchased auction, I have brought home some great wins of products, Thanks to word of mouth and the #DealDashTeam of customer service reps I have found a new way of dealing with my addiction of shopping on line…LOL

    1. Thank you for reading and your well thought out comments! I 100% agree with you about leaving the BidBuddy unattended, unless it happens to be a free auction weekend, of course! 😉

I love gift cards, too, it helps keep spending in check as well as being nice to let my kids pick out and pay for their own things.

Thanks again for reading and commenting!
