How to Stay Awake, Stay Alert

Did you ever fall asleep at your computer while playing on DealDash.com?

I cannot count the number of times I fell asleep while playing on DealDash and woke up just in time to see another player win the auction that could have been mine. How disappointing!

Of course, it is never a good idea to play on DealDash after a hard day at work, but some players find bidding on DealDash a relaxing way to end the day.

If you relax a little too much, however, you might fall asleep at the wrong time. Therefore, the question is:  “What can you do to stay awake and alert when you are exhausted?”

Here are some things that work for me to stay awake and alert when playing on DealDash:

  • Keep a wash cloth and a bowl of cold water on my computer desk. When I feel drowsy, I dip the wash cloth in the cold water, wring it out, open it up and put the wash cloth on my face. That usually wakes me up in a hurry.
  • Quickly get myself a fresh cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate. I always make sure I have enough bids in BidBuddy before I leave my computer.
  • Stand up every few minutes and do some exercises, such as jumping on my mini rebounder or lifting some weights while watching my computer screen.
  • Listen to some lively music. If I listen to soothing music, it tends to help put me to sleep instead, which would only add to the problem.

If you plan ahead, you will be less likely to fall asleep at the wrong time. To win auctions on DealDash, it is important to stay awake and stay alert—especially when an auction gets down to the last two or three players.
