DealDash Free Tools of the Trade

DealDashtools

DealDash offers some amazing tools of the trade – for free. Read this article to learn how to use them.

DealDash can be very competitive – there are millions of registered users. Luckily for us, DealDash offers many free tools of the trade that you can use to try to get a “leg-up” on the competition. Of course, being a fair and honest website, DealDash offers them to everyone. When you realize that the other bidders are using these tools, you’ll need to use them to keep up with the rest! Read on to learn how to use these tools to enhance your entertainment shopping experience.

Set Reminder Alerts

Do you see something on DealDash that isn’t available to bid on right now? Are your worried that you won’t remember to keep checking back, and you’ll completely miss it? No worries, DealDash fans! There is a DealDash tool called “Alert Me.”

How does Alert Me work? It’s simple! All you have to do is click the button that says “Alert me” and DealDash will send you an email when DealDash has scheduled an auction for this item. DealDash will alert you when the auction is starting within a couple of days, and then again when the auction is starting within a couple of hours.

Use the App to Your Advantage

We talked about the DealDash app earlier in the week. If you didn’t download the app already, then you should get on that! The DealDash app is an amazing free tool you need to use if you want to keep up with the other bidders. You can download the free DealDash app on either the Google Play store or the Apple App store. After you have used the app to win some auctions on DealDash, be sure to rate and review it!

Always.Use.The.BidBuddy.

There are no ifs, and’s, or buts – the best DealDash tool around is the BidBuddy. Every auction includes a BidBuddy, and it’s so easy to use, as well. You can put in as many or as few bids as you like, the amount is only limited by how many bids you have in your bid bank. This is completely different than some of the other bidding sites that limit you to arbitrary limits.

You can cancel the BidBuddy or add more bids at any time. Your BidBuddy will alternate bidding with the other BidBuddies that are set until there are no more bids placed from BidBuddies or other bidders, and whoever has the last bid in before the clock runs out is the winner. The BidBuddy is the best tool in your DealDash toolbox, hands down!

Holiday Trips with Children and DealDash

Here it is, the end of October! Does your family travel in November and December to visit relatives? If you have small kids even a small weekend trip requires preparation.

November is just a day away, and with November we have Thanksgiving, then of course December is right behind it with all of the holidays that come with it. My family makes at least 3 or 4 small trips in the winter season to visit various relatives, and let me tell you, travelling with small kids can be awful if you aren’t prepared.

Coleman Cooler Combo, Red

First and foremost, you should acquire a cooler that fits comfortably in your car, and fill it with all sorts of snacks and drinks. Even if the trip you’re taking to Grandma’s or Auntie’s is only a couple of hours, the kids will be whining “I’m hunnnnggrrryyy!” at the first fast food place they see. Save your money and your time by preempting the hungries with kid friendly snacks such as grapes, goldfish crackers, pretzels, and juice boxes in your cooler. You can find some nice travel coolers on DealDash in the Hobbies, Toys, Outdoors, and Games section.

Next up in saving your sanity, entertainment! There there are some great products out there such as portable DVD players for the car, and of course MP3 players and tablets. Just make sure that you get some headphones for the kids from DealDash. That way the kids will be occupied with their devices and you can have some peace and quiet. Check the Electronics & Computer section for a variety of headphones and other electronic devices. A word of advice, though – if you have small kids under the age of 12 or so, please don’t let them use earbuds. Earbuds aren’t safe for younger kids who don’t realize that it will hurt their ears to turn up the volume too loud. Please choose over-the-ear styles for younger kids. A lot of the headphones meant for children have a built in volume regulator so the kids can’t turn them up too loudly and damage their hearing. Please check the headphones carefully before you let your kids use them to be sure they are at a safe volume.

Hopefully you and your kids will have a great holiday season visiting your family this year. Check out  DealDash and I’m sure you’ll find something to entertain even the most difficult child. Good luck and happy bidding everyone!

Let’s Take a Road trip!!

Look at the calendar! We are HALFWAY through August, can you believe it? I think it’s time for an end of summer road trip.

The summer is coming to a close rather quickly, and school will be back in session soon. There’s a few weeks of summer fun left before it’s time for Autumn to begin. One of the best ways I can think of to close out the end of summer is to go on a road trip with my family.

I’m sure most of you have fond memories of getting up at daybreak and piling into the car with your parents and brothers and sisters and setting out for a road trip. Maybe it was to go visit Grandma, or even some aunts, uncles, and cousins that you on;y get to see a few times per year. However, my favorite kind of road trip was when we would venture to a place that we had never been before.

RCA 7-Inch Dual Screen DVD PlayerApple iPod Classic 160GB MP3 PlayerApple iPad mini with Retina display Wi-Fi 32GB, Space Gray

When I was a kid, as exciting as road trips were, they could also get a little boring if the trip was more than a couple of hours long. Kids today probably have less boredom, though, since there are some great products out there such as portable DVD players for the car, and of course ipods and tablets. However, sometimes it can be fun to play games in the car with the whole family, and I would like to share some of the ones that I think are the most fun.

  • Memory Game – Some people call this the Grocery Game, because the easiest way to explain how to play is this:

To start the game, the first player names a product available at a grocery store that starts with the letter A. The second player has to repeat what the first player said and then add another grocery item that starts with a B. For example, if player one says “asparagus,” player two would repeat “asparagus” and then might add “blueberries.” If you forget a grocery item, you’re out, and the game continues until the player with the best memory wins. However, you can play variations of this game with anything from animals to sports to TV shows. This was one of my favorites as a kid, because I usually won!

*Fortunately-Unfortunately

To play this game, one person will make an unfortunate statement, and then another player will counter the statement with a positive response.

Fortunately-Unfortunately presents boundless possibilities for creativity and positive thinking. For example, one player could make the statement, “Unfortunately, an alligator is going to attack us.” A second player would counter with a more fortunate statement such as “Fortunately, I took “Alligator Whispering” lessons.” The more exaggerated and silly the statements are the better! This game is fun for kids and adults, too.

*Virtual Hide & Seek

To start this game, imagine you are back in your own house, and pick a place to hide. You can be any size, so you can hide in the dresser drawer, inside the sink, in the linen closet, wherever you can imagine!  The other players ask yes or no questions only, such as “Are you in the bathroom?” until they narrow it down to the room, area and then….find you!  Kids love this game because it’s so fun to hide in places you’d never really fit into.

Hopefully you and your kids or grandkids will enjoy playing these fun car games. If not, there’s always the portable DVD players, iPods, and iPads that I mentioned earlier! Check out  DealDash‘s Computers, Laptops, & Tablets section and Im sure you’ll find something to make everyone happy. Good luck and happy bidding everyone!

Apples to Apples

I don’t know about you, but every single person I know over the age of about 5 has an Apple product of some sort. They are SO popular. Let me tell you why.

Apple has been around longer than I have been alive – they were founded on (no fooling!)  April 1, 1976, which is 39 years ago! When thinking of founding members, most people just think of Steve & Steve (Jobs and Wozniak), but there was actually a third founding member named Ronald Wayne. Their first product was called the Apple 1,  which went on sale in July of 1976 and was market-priced at $666.66 ($2,763 in 2015 dollars, adjusted for inflation). Since then, of course, Apple has released countless products. I’ll give you a quick run-down on some of the most popular ones that are currently available.

Old Apple Logo

iPhone. The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are the newest phones that Apple has released. The 6 Plus has a huge 5.5-inch (diagonal) Retina HD display screen that is 1920-by-1080 resolution. Some other great features are an 8MP iSight camera with Focus Pixels, True Tone flash, and optical image stabilization, an A8 chip with M8 motion co-processor, and the Touch ID fingerprint sensor – which I have on my phone, and it’s amazing! I absolutely love being able to just swipe my finger and my phone unlocks without me having to type in a password. And when my kids are bigger, well, no one is going to be able to guess Mom’s password!

6 Plus

iPad. There are a few different iPads that are currently out, but I will go with my favorite- the iPad Mini 3 64GB with WiFi. I recently got this iPad for my 7 year old son and he loves it. It has so many cool features like the Touch ID fingerprint sensor (so his little sister can’t use it!), a 7.9-inch Retina display, a powerful A7 chip with 64-bit architecture, an iSight camera, a FaceTime HD camera, and so many game apps on the Apple App store, a lot of them for free or less than $3. These iPad Minis are so cute and so portable. My regular iPad doesn’t fit easily into my purse, so when I think I will need an iPad on the go – I go with the iPad Mini.

Mini 3

iPod. As with the iPad there are many different types of iPod, so I will go with the one that I am the most familiar with, the 32GB iPod Touch . I think that one of the coolest feature on this iPod is the  5 MP iSight camera. It lets you shoot photos and high-definition videos on the go. No need to bring your clunky camera or camcorder, the iPod 32GB has you covered. Some other nice features include the iTunes radio with streaming music, a 4″ retina display, and Airdrop Control Center. This iPod holds so much music I don’t know if I will ever end up filling mine all the way up. It’s also great for storing and reading all of your Ebooks and reading them with the iBooks or Kindle App from the Apple App store.
